Bahia Street and its partner organization Sou Digna welcome a limited number of international volunteers to support English instruction and an annual work party.

Bahia Street and Sou Digna provide English language instruction when a volunteer teacher is available.  Classes are interactive and engaging for beginner students, and teachers become a member of the school faculty.  A library of resources are available for volunteers to integrate into their own lessons.

Update (May 28, 2013)We have no more volunteer spots available in the 2013 academic year (now through December 2013).

Join us for a vacation with a purpose! Every January, Bahia Street (Brazil) welcomes a team of people who work side by side with local staff preparing the Bahia Street Center for a new academic year. During the work party, volunteers clean, paint, and help in ways that range from organizing the library to rewiring the computer lab. They join an active community of individuals who are committed to grassroots social change, sharing a daily lunch with staff and program leaders.
